The pop star joins Green Day, Rihanna, and other artists in rallying young voters to the polls in historic numbers.
Sabrina Carpenter is no stranger to making an impact, but this year, her influence has extended far beyond the music charts. The 25-year-old singer-songwriter, known for hits like “Please Please Please” and “Taste,” is being celebrated as one of the most impactful celebrities in engaging young voters for the 2024 election. With support from HeadCount—a nonpartisan organization that partners with artists to encourage youth voter registration—Carpenter’s initiatives brought an astounding 35,814 new voters into the electoral fold.
Through a combination of concert giveaways, personalized postcards, and in-person activations on her Short n’ Sweet album tour, Carpenter’s reach extended even further. HeadCount reported that she connected with an additional 263,087 individuals, ensuring that fans had checked their voter registration status and were aware of local polling locations throughout her tour.
The Grammy-nominated artist is one of several stars passionately pushing for civic engagement this election season, joining the likes of iconic rock band Green Day. The band, whose activism coincided with their Saviors album tour, registered 7,900 new voters and engaged 61,000 people with similar tour-based voting initiatives. In addition, Green Day’s efforts have resulted in nearly 23,000 new voters beyond their tour and an impressive 46,892 related actions that inspire political engagement.
Carpenter and Green Day aren’t the only ones getting involved. Celebrities across the music and entertainment industries have amplified political messages in recent months. Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign has also attracted a range of vocal supporters, from Beyoncé to Oprah Winfrey, who made appearances in key battleground states.
Meanwhile, Rihanna has urged her millions of followers to vote and engaged in online conversations with fans about immigration and other key issues. HeadCount reports indicate a wave of enthusiasm from young Americans, a demographic poised to make a significant impact at the polls.
With the U.S. presidential race between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump reaching its final stages, the influence of these stars has been undeniably pivotal. Carpenter’s record-breaking voter registration efforts have not only added thousands of new voices to the conversation but also set a powerful example of how artists can leverage their platforms to inspire change.
As the 2024 election day approaches, the impact of Carpenter, Green Day, and other celebrity voices is sure to resonate—helping shape the future of the country, one new voter at a time.
