In a playful interview with GQ, Rocky, 36, said the name is set “no matter what,” joking that even if the baby is a girl, Denzel is the choice. The sex of the baby has yet to be revealed.
This newest addition will join the couple’s sons, Riot, 2, and RZA, 3. Rihanna, 37, first revealed her pregnancy in May 2025, showing off her baby bump in New York City. Rocky confirmed the news on the Met Gala red carpet earlier this year. An insider shared with PEOPLE that the couple is “thrilled to be growing their family” and deliberately planned to have their children close in age so they could share a strong bond.
Rihanna and Rocky, who have been together since 2020, hadn’t actively planned their first child but embraced parenthood when the time came. Rihanna told Vogue in 2022, “I always thought it would be marriage first, then a baby, but who the f— says it has to be that way. I’m certainly not gonna let that get in the way of me being a mom.”
The couple’s family life is already filled with music and creativity. Rihanna shared with E! News that both sons have taken a keen interest in music, with Riot even enjoying freestyling, a talent she attributes to Rocky. “That’s definitely a Rocky thing, not me,” she quipped.
