‘The Boys: Trigger Warning’ brings fans into a virtual reality battle against corrupt superheroes, featuring original cast members and new twists
Fans of The Boys have a thrilling reason to gear up for action beyond the TV screen. As the Prime Video series prepares to debut its fifth and final season on April 8, 2026, Brazilian game studio ARVORE and Sony Pictures Virtual Reality have announced the franchise’s first-ever video game: “The Boys: Trigger Warning.”
Slated for release in 2026, the virtual reality game plunges players “on the front lines of the war against Supes,” allowing them to team up with the Boys to infiltrate the corrupt Vought International. The game promises familiar faces from the show, including Laz Alonso (Mother’s Milk), Colby Minifie (Ashley Barrett), and P.J. Byrne (Adam Bourke), reprising their roles. Jensen Ackles, who portrayed Soldier Boy, will appear in a new, twisted incarnation created specifically for the game, adding an exciting twist for fans.

Ricardo Justus, ARVORE’s founder and head of studio, highlighted the collaboration with the show’s creators. “From day one, we wanted to build an adaptation hand-in-hand with the people who defined this universe,” he said. “Working with the show’s writers and cast allowed us to bring the edge, humor, and brutality that made the series iconic, delivered with the spark of magic only ARVORE can create.”
Based on the comic book series of the same name, The Boys depicts a world where superheroes are celebrities who don’t always act ethically. The titular group fights to expose and thwart the corruption of these Supes. The Prime Video adaptation, which debuted in 2019, has released four seasons to date and earned four Emmy Awards for stunts and music, starring Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford, and Karl Urban.

As fans await the series’ conclusion, which will release new episodes weekly through May 20, anticipation is building for The Boys: Trigger Warning. The game is now available for pre-order on Meta Quest or can be added to wishlists on the PlayStation Store, offering an immersive new way for audiences to experience the irreverent, satirical, and brutally entertaining world of The Boys.
With the fifth season promising “a gory, epic, moist climax,” according to creator Eric Kripke, and a fully immersive VR game on the horizon, fans are in for an unprecedented combination of narrative and interactive storytelling. The Boys universe is expanding in ways that blur the line between screen and reality, giving fans a front-row seat to its chaotic and thrilling world.
